Synopsis of Experiment

Subjects are healthy males of similar age, height, and weight. Blood pressure (BP) will be measured by listening for Korotkoff sounds. MRI images will be used to measure stroke volume (SV) and ECGs will be used to measure heart rate (HR).

  1. Measure systolic and diastoiic BP, HR and SV of a subject at rest and then again immediately after exercise.
  2. Calculate MAP, CO, and SVR during rest and post-exercise.
  3. Compare resting and post-exercise systolic BP, diastolic BP, MAP, CO, and SVR.

Predictions

Based on what you know, predict the outcome of each experiment. Complete the numbered statements below by choosing one response for each number.

When you are done, click the Submit button to save your responses to the laboratory report.
